- Run the "system file checker", which may find OS files that are corrupt or
out of date:
c:\sfc.exe /scannow

- The WMI/WBEM repository may be corrupt, search http://groups.google.com
for info about recreating the repository in
%WINDIR%\System32\wbem\Repository\.

- Apply the latest OS service pack
