I successfully done the deed to my Pioneer DVR 108 but I can't get the Sony DDU1621 to work.

Because you actually change the 'firmware' of the drive. It's not classed as an update.

so, I updated the firmware - DISC info is showing 1.07 instead of 1.06 - and installed and ran region killer. Checking the DVD drives region killer says it is still region 2.

I've looked in the registry, can't see exactly what I'm meant to change..

I've made a full back up of registry etc...

any ideas? I really want to be able to watch region 1's in WMP

I suppose it's 'Original NEC ND4550A firmware 1.07' I should download? I have already got 1.07 apparently according to DISCinfo.

so I've downloaded 1.07, do I extract it to somewhere? I haven't used winRAR before and that's the program It's opening it with.

sorry if that's a stupid question, it's all getting a little complicated
