I have MSN as my internet service provider, and when I go
into PHOTOS, I get a Warning Message that says "Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page. As a result, the page may not display correctly." When I click OK, the screen says that I don't have "Picture IT" installed. But I do, as it came with MSN. MSN couldn't help, and the said I would have to go to the Internet Explorer people. Can someone help. Thanks. |

I can't help you, but from reading these forums I am
learning that whenever you get an error message talking about security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls, the settings are not the problem. The error message is a lie. Repliers may suggest checking IE security settings, but you probably have never changed them. They may also suggest you reinstall XP/IE, but that won't solve the problem either. Or they may suggest you add a particular site to the trusted zone. That won't help, either. I have seen many posts on this forum that never seem to get a fix posted that works. Sorry for the bad news. Kinda a useless answer, isn't it Lee? If you don't belive problems can be
resolved and you might as well give up, why bother to waste bandwidth here. Go someplace else. For the original poster . . . I suggest you do look at your Security Zone settings for this particular site. Security Zone setting do get changed by patches and so on. ActiveX Controls do get changed from enable to prompt or disable, so check them and get back to us. We wil be happen to at least try .. . .
