Thumbs down Add Samsung to the bad list

Anyone thinking of buying a Samsung item. Take great care. Their customer services are the worse I have ever come across in my life.

I paid £550 for a 19" tft 193T (I know, how much!!) anyhow, I did. After 3 months the thing stopped working. Samsung at this point won’t replace the monitor for a new one; they're replacing it with a reconditioned one. They even tried to under spec me by giving me a 192T.

After waiting 7 weeks they finally turned up with a reconditioned monitor. Now, after 3 months. This one has broken. They told me, again, they would have a replacememt to me within 4 working days. I have now been waiting 17 days and still nobody has turned up. Today, I decided to return the monitor to the shop where I bought it. Thankfully, they have swapped it for a Philips 190Xs. Thanks to Phil at PCworld in Warrington.

The moral behind this story is – FFS don't buy anything to do with Samsung.

My motto is:

"You’re only a customer until they have your money!"

Samsung you crock of ****!

This is standard across the board, mate.

LG do it
Samsung do it
Iiyama do it

To name but three.

Who cares if its a reconditioned one, as long as it works and is in no way physically inferior, then it don't matter, chances are it would be newer than the original!

Watch the language also, wouldn't be suprised if you got banned. It's not tolerated here.

Chill.

Chris

Angry Re: Add Samsung to the bad list

I bought a Samsung colour laser CLP500 in October 2004 - fine at first but a few days before Xmas it locked in Processing mode for more than an hour until I switched it off. Then every print came heavily defaced with lots of vertical lines.

Their Digicare engineer called on 4th January, made no comment on why it had failed but said the yellow toner and OPC drum should be replaced not by Samsung but by the retailer "who might be difficult about it".

I duly called Simply Computers - who deserve another thread here - and after three days trying by phone and email got through only to be told it was not their responsibility and they transferred my call back to Samsung.

Samsung then said they would not replace the parts as they are consumables and must be paid for. The printer cost £360 and new drum and toner might cost about £250, with no guarantee that would solve the problem.

I would prefer a replacement printer.

What are my chances?
