Default Image Size Changes

FP2000
I upload images with the size 700 x 525. I create a thumbnail. When
clicking the thumbnail the "bigger" size displays. However, the "bigger"
size is not full size. It is 539 x 404.

Why?

Which ones are smaller? I'm not going to try each one. The ones I did open
were 700 x ... You do have a few broken images as well.

In my viewing, checking the property of everyone of them shows them
to be 539 x 404. But in checking each and every one, I noticed that when
the image begins to first appear, there is a brief border outline that does
seem to be 700 pixels wide. I have my screen resolution set to 800 x 600
and thought that setting the full size image to 700 pixels wide, my monitor
should show the complete image and not require horizontal scrolling.

Your response prompted further experimenting. I changed my screen
resolution to 1024 x 768 and then clicking the thumbnail, the image does
in fact show as 700 x 525. However, my thoughts were that probably most
of the people that view these pages were using computers set at 800 x 600,
and thought that a 700 pixel wide image would fit nicely on most monitors.

Now, I wonder if the "resizing" is a function of Windows (I'm running XP),
or perhaps something built into viewing of thumbnails.

Is that resizing under IE Tools | Options? I didn't find it.
In XP, I did a search for that subject with no match.
I'll check Control Panel.

In IE go to Tool, Internet Options, Advanced Tab and scroll down to the
multimedia section and you'll see the checkbox.
