Default File Names - Are my File Names saved or do they get converted

I am needing to build another website. I currently have my CD's for
FrontPage97 & FrontPage 2000.

I have Windows XP Home Edition. I have not installed either CD yet. I don't
even know if I can.

I remember form previous versions of FrontPage that when I used the Publish
Button none of my page names were saves, they got published with something
like 1.2.3 etc, especially maddening were the photographs which were
re-named. Thsu whne I wanted to do jsut a simple FTP to change out a photo, I
could never find it on the Internet Web Server. If I buy FrontPage 2003 will
my photographs be re-named using a generic numbering system so that it is
really hard for me to find them over on the web server?

I have never seen that happen before with *any* version of FrontPage.
I have used every FrontPage version since FP95, and they all retained any
filename I chose to give an image or page - except those files (theme
buttons) that FrontPage built itself.

The only time I've seen FP name something 'on it's own' was the creation of photogalleries, and even then it leaves the photo images file names alone.
