pass words and servers how to access

Default pass words and servers how to access


i was trying to change my pass word for front page 2002 ..i didn't know that
visitors can't access it with out a pass word i want to change this..also i
tried to go to tool and then to servers but the word server isn't hight
lighted so i can go into it.
i hope some one can help me with this info.

Are you saying that site visitors must login to view your site? If no see below.

1. If you are talking about the ability to open your site on the remote server via IE, Edit with FP,
then is normal and not an issue, unless when you open the site you are not prompted to login, if you
click cancel, you will still get the page, however you will not be able to save the page back to
your site, if the permissions are set correctly. If you are not prompted, then you need to contact
your web host immediately to run a check on the extensions and/or reset the permissions.

2. You can not change your account login info from within FP, only your web host can change that,
unless they provide you with a control panel that has that option.

3. If the server command is grayed out when you have the live/remote site open in FP, it means that
your host doesn't allow you the ability to set any permissions on the server, which would only apply
to subwebs/subsite, not the root web.
