Does IE5 for Mac interpret absolute positioning differently than does IE for
Windows? I checked my website on a Mac with IE5 this morning and the absolutely positioned flyout menus (a la Jon Spivey) were not where they should be. But I have had other reports from users of Macs that the menus were fine. I am puzzled. Thanks for any light you can shine on this. Jeremy http://vatican2andbutler.org |

It really is best NOT to use absolute positioning ... ever! See this

That's just not true. Absolute Posining falls under the " Approach With Caution: " heading. Assessing your audience and providing alterantives to users who's browsers don't support current implementations is the best approach. Bob Lehmann "E. T. Thanks Bob and ET. I am planning to keep my pretty flyout menus (which I
invested a lot of learning time in), but provide a link to users of Macs and old browsers to an alternate site that will have only traditional html links and no javascript. |
