Default IE5 for Mac interprets absolute position differently?

Does IE5 for Mac interpret absolute positioning differently than does IE for
Windows?

I checked my website on a Mac with IE5 this morning and the absolutely
positioned flyout menus (a la Jon Spivey) were not where they should be. But
I have had other reports from users of Macs that the menus were fine. I am
puzzled.

Thanks for any light you can shine on this. Jeremy

It really is best NOT to use absolute positioning ... ever! See this

That's just not true. Absolute Posining falls under the " Approach With
Caution: " heading.

Assessing your audience and providing alterantives to users who's browsers
don't support current implementations is the best approach.

Thanks Bob and ET. I am planning to keep my pretty flyout menus (which I
invested a lot of learning time in), but provide a link to users of Macs and
old browsers to an alternate site that will have only traditional html links
and no javascript.
