Runnin FP2002 on XP Home engine.
I am administering a website. I wish to update the indexs page. I log in: click edit with FP: edit, save to my harddrive. Request to publish: it says I must publish to a different website then the one that is open. Why? Alternatively, I have Juno open, take modified page from hard drive with FP, publish to web: cannot find server. Will not find Juno this way, to find the server. Why? How do I update my website? |

If you open the page directly on the remote server, you are working directly in the live/remote
site, all you need to do is save the page, you do not need to publish it. You would only need to publish if you open your local copy and make changes. -- ============================================== Thomas A. Because you are already on your site.
You should always open FP, go to File/Open site/ then select the site from wherever you have it stored on your HD. Make your changes, then publish UP to your remote site (In this case the host server that you log on to) This way you will always have two current copies. One on your HD and another that is on your host server. If you prefer to work directly on your site as you have done, then when you save the page it is saved directly on the hosting server and no publishing is needed (unless you want to publish back down to your HD).
