The simplest way I usually fix it is...delete the counter on the local machine, save, re-Publish (yes without the counter).
Go back to local copy, insert the counter and set the count to how you want it to start. Save, recalculate hyperlinks (this is for good luck). Republish. Works everytime for me. hth. I have deleted it many times, and inserted another. That got it back to 0 but still wont start where I want it to. I have read the messages on here of people w/ the same problems and one thing is that I dont have the pagename.htm.cnt file in my _private folder. Not real sure what that is but people talk about it so maybe I need it. thanks | zac |

Your counter is working fine, open the live site in FP, then the _private folder and then open
index.html.cnt in Notepad, and then change the number, DO NOT change the total number of digits. Then publish a copy back to your local machine, then open the _private folder and select index.html.cnt or index.htm.cnt, then right click properties, workgroup and make to not be published. -- ============================================== Thomas A.
