Default Opening Page

Using FP2002 SP3....

I have set the Tools / Options... to "Open last Web automatically when
FrontPage starts".

However, it doesn't! Instead it opens a new, blank page.

Anyone suggest what's gone wrong and, more importantly, how can it be
corrected?

TIA.

FP always open a blank page when a web is open, just click the X to close it.

If you had a web open when you closed FP, then when you next open FP, the web will automatically
open.

A web is more than a single page, it encompasses all of the files that make up your web site, so
when you open FP, it just create blank new page, just like Word create a new empty document, Excel
creates a new empty spreadsheet, etc. Clicking the X just closes the page, but not the web.

Thanks for the extra info. I now know where I've been going wrong. I've
been closing the Web manually before closing FP (a legacy of a previous HTML
editor!)
By simply exiting FP, on restart the previous web opens.

Thanks again

Beg to differ, Thomas. At least in my FP 2002, FP comes up with the previously
open web active but NO pages open.

Ok, what do you get when you first open FP directly, and is this the same as when you allow FP to
open the last open web automatically?

When no web is open when FP was previously shut down, FP starts with a blank (new) page. WHen a web was
previously open, FP starts with no page at all, but with the web open.

check the title bar of the window - it should have the web name there.

It opens the last WEB not the last file in that web.
