When I click on File/New to go to the Database Interface
Wizard (DIW) in my registered copy of Frontpage 2003, the only tab that shows is the General tab and the DIW option does not show. None of the other tabs are there either (i.e. Packages, My Templates, etc.). I did run Detect and Repair with no luck. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |

Try it without a site open. File | New, then in the Task Pane on the right,
choose One page Web site. Do you see it then? I am trying to add a database search function to an
existing site. The site is at C:inetpub/wwwroot/mydata in which I view the results at http://localhost/mydata/page.asp On my other computer with FP 2003 all the tabs show even with a disk based web open. The computer I am trying to use that is having the problem is running Windows Pro 2000 which is my testing server. Any other suggestions is appreciated. >-----Original Message----- >Try it without a site open. File | New, then in the Task Pane on the right, >choose One page Web site. If you are trying to create a database search page in an existing web, you
can (and I do) create it in http://localhost/mydata Create a new page, save it with a .asp extension, and then Insert | Database | Results. It will launch the Database Results Wizard, which will walk you through creating a Query page. -- ~ Kathleen Anderson Microsoft MVP - FrontPage Spider Web Woman Designs http://www.spiderwebwoman.com/resources/ Connect to the Newsgroups with Outlook Express http://www.tushar-mehta.com/misc_tu...e_ng/index.html anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com wrote: > I am trying to add a database search function to an > existing site. Thanks for the reply but there is no option for DIW when I
go to New/Web. The only tab is the General tab and the DIW is not located there. When I create a new page and save as page.asp then go to Insert/Database, the Database option is dimmed. Running IIS 5 on Windows 2000 Pro so I don't know why its doing this. I can create an ASP page the page displays correctly when I view it at http://localhost/page.asp. >-----Original Message----- >If you are trying to create a database search page in an existing web, you >can (and I do) create it in http://localhost/mydata Create a new page, save >it with a .asp extension, and then Insert | Database | Results. What version of FP are you using here? IIRC in FP2002 and earlier you have
to set the Tools-Options-Compatibility to use ASP and to use IIS servers in order to allow the database functions. -- Ron Reply only to group - emails will be deleted unread. <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:1c0d401c4523b$d0e4f330$a301280a@phx.gbl... > Thanks for the reply but there is no option for DIW when I > go to New/Web.
