Default Order Form & Confirmation Page problem

Last August I upgraded from FP 98 to 2002.

I have an order form on a secure server with my web host. My host wrote
something so the form would send order information to me. It was working
fine since September, I made changes, they fixed it.
Whenever I make changes to this form and publish it to the server, it will
not submit the form so I call my web host and their tech support goes in and
removes a </form> tag near the top right after the opening tag line with
instructions to send the information to me (<form action="cgi-bin/ and so
on).

The </form> tag is also near the bottom of the instructions and I am told
that is the one that allows the information to be collected and sent to me.

They keep telling me to remove the </form> tag near the top as it shouldn't
be there. Every time I remove it and save the document, I can see </form>
tag pop right back into the html as soon as it saves. I was told yesterday
that this is not their job to edit this and they will no longer go in and
remove the extra tag that appears when I make revisions to the order form.
The order form will not submit when that extra tag is there.

When they send dummy orders, they get the confirmation page and I receive
their orders.
When I go online and send a dummy order I get the following error page:

Error:
The soupermail CGI died due to the following error:

Unable to determine where the config file is.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----
Check your soupermail configuration or contact:
orders@friendshipgestures.com informing them of the error, and how and where
it occured.

And of course no order is sent when this occurs. I have had friends go in
and send dummy orders and they also receive the error and no order is sent.
Can you explain why it works from the host server but won't work correctly
when other people try to send order and when I send a dummy order to test
it?

Any idea how I can remove the tag permanently so it doesn't reappear when I
update this form?

Thank you.

Judith

Default Re: Order Form & Confirmation Page problem

The main problem is that your form is incorrectly designed, otherwise FP wouldn't change or add the
ending </form> tag.

Make sure you are not splitting the form across table or cell tags.
