Front Page closes when I attempt to edit a file

When I open a FrontPage web then open a file for editing,
the file appears for a few seconds, then Front Page
closes without any error message being displayed.

I had not used Front Page for several months. When I last
used it, I was able to edit files with no problem, but
now the error occurs every time I attempt to edit a file.

I am running Windows XP and Front Page 2002.

Any ideas on what might be causing this problem or how to
fix it?

Close FrontPage.
Find and delete all files named *.tmp and *.web
Clear your browsers Temporary Internet and History files.

Then open FrontPage, select File > Open Web and then try editing your page.

And if that doesn't work, click Help on the FrontPage toolbar and select Detect and
Repair.
