search page not displaying comments

Hi,
I have created a search page on my site using the 'insert
web component/web seach' method that delivers the
following results:
Document, score, comments and matches.
When I run a test search, the returned results have
nothing displayed in the comments column even though the
pages it finds have comments in their properties.
What am I doing wrong?
I use fp2003, and have published the site locally with
2002 extensions installed. Other pages that use the
extensions are working correctly.
