Denied access!

Help please!

I have built an XPe image for our evaluation platform, and I am having
difficulty installing applications onto the target device. I have
successfully created the image, and deployed it to the target; including
completing the FBA. I am using an external USB CD-ROM device which is
detected properly, and I can read files from it. However, when I
attempt to run the SETUP.EXE from the hardware vendor to install the
graphics drivers, XPe returns an error to me stating:

The operating system has denied access to the specific file.

What do I need to do to allow XPe to proceded with installing the video
drivers?

On a related note, this unit also includes a Touchkit touchscreen, which
also ships with a vendor supplied driver disk. This drive will install
(seemingly) OK from the CD, however when I run the utility to configure
and calibrate the touchscreen, I recevie an error message:

The instruction at <insert hex address> referenced memory at <insert hex
address>. The memory could not be "read".

Can anyone give me some direction on where I should look to resolve this
error?

Last but not least...I was able to enable the RMB function in XPe by
checking the "Show Context Menu" options in the User Interface Core
component, however when I RMB click on the desktop and select Properties
(to get to video options), the system never displays the Properties
dialog box. Is there something else I need to enable to activate this
function?

As I am sure you can tell, I am new to this, so I am sure that I am just
missing something from my target designer that needs to be included.

Have you included the Display control panel?

Thanks Heidi, that provided the display control panel functionality that
I was looking for. I also found that my graphics card is a simple S3
Twister, and XPe had a module for it, and my resolution and colors are
now correct.

Now, I just need to get that darn touch screen working. (The Elo module
with XPe didn't seem to do anything).

Dave,

Two things you may need to get things installed:

Windows Installer Service
Dos Windows on Windows support

On a side note, why don't you create a component to install drivers for the
graphics adapter.

Is it a serial one, or a serial ProCap? We're using both here, I can supply
you with components that do work and help you through it offline if you
wish.
