Default Cell headers and footers in tables FP 2003

If I understand the information you can only apply headers and footers to layout cells not grid table cells. Anyone know of a workaround to this?

Apply whatever formatting you want to the top and bottom
cell in your grid table.

If this doesn't answer your question, please post a more
detailed explanation of what you want to this thread.

I mean the header and footer in the cell, not of a cell in a table. I am referring to what you often see as the thin black line at the bottom of a cell under a navigation bar. The cell header and footer option is grayed out in the task pane when you are in a grid table.

All the header and footer option does is add a row at the top (header) and
bottom (footer) of the table, with some cell and font formatting.
Very easy to do in any table.

W/ the Table Layout Task Pane Open
Create your table
Select your cell (row of cells) and the Cell Header & Footer link in the task pane
Select the Footer check box and set the size / color

FYI
That will just split your cells in to multiple rows w/ cell background colors and spacers in the cells to keep them from collapsing

| Not headers and footers in tables...headers and footers within cells within grid tables. Lets say I put a nav bar in a row - how
do I make the very bottom of the row a small black line (footer) in the cell of the grid table?

Can you do this in a GRID table though? The pane does not come up in a graid table.
