Hi
I'm happy working with Access 2000 but I want to start a new site which might generate more than 50 concurrent hits. I have read somewhere that for more than 50 database hits you need to migrate to MYSQL. Can anyone explain how you do this through FP2000. And does the SQL that Access generate have to be altered in anyway. Thank you in advance - Stephen |

You can upsize your Access database to SQL. See:
http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...kb;en-us;241743 http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...kb;en-us;244309 Your host must support SQL on your server and you must have the proper permissions. MySQL is a different database (usually run on UNIX) than SQL (Windows). HTH -- Theresa Bennett http://webworksite.com "The worksite for designers and developers." FWIW,
I uses FP 2002 and Access to create corporate intranets with alot of database integration and more than 50 hits at once (depending on data required) and have had no problems with the database or records. Thank you Michael - I think I will stick with Access and see how it goes.
I have just downloaded PHP (which apparently you need if you use MySQL) saw what was involved and immediately removed it - I just can't handle learning another package! Access will work just fine for you, and can handle a lot more then that.
