Hello
I have heard that there is a limit to the number of files that FP2002 (that I am using) can handle successfully. Is this true? What is the number of files? Does it refer to html files only or html and others (e.g. jpgs)? I have a website, devided to 5 subwebs, that has about 4500 files (htm+jpgs&gifs) and I want to know if there might be a problem when the file number increases. Up to what number of files can we go? So far, we've had no problems. I appreciate your help. Lina |

If there is one, it would be the Windows limit
of 9,999 that can be shown in a Windows Explorer window -- 95isalive This site is best viewed.................. ...............................with a computer "Lina" <azapr@tee.gr> wrote in message news:0a4d01c35110$9c618830$a601280a@phx.gbl... > Hello > > I have heard that there is a limit to the number of files > that FP2002 (that I am using) can handle successfully. > Is this true? > What is the number of files? > Does it refer to html files only or html and others (e.g. > jpgs)? > > I have a website, devided to 5 subwebs, that has about > 4500 files (htm+jpgs&gifs) and I want to know if there > might be a problem when the file number increases. > Up to what number of files can we go? > So far, we've had no problems. > > I appreciate your help. > Lina > |

Thanks Steve, but I don't think they meant that.
They were talking about 1000-2000 files only. Any ideas? Anyone? Lina >-----Original Message----- >If there is one, it would be the Windows limit >of 9,999 that can be shown in a Windows Explorer window > > |

Make sure the extensions are configured to handle a large number of pages.
Under Windows IIS, this is set under the IIS MMC. Also consider breaking the web into small subwebs. -- ============================================== Thomas A. All static pages. With a central CSS style sheet at the root level. These were divided into proably 20 folders off the root, and then untold number of subfolders under that. Never noticed any problems. |
