I think I'm getting old too. I can't recall how to retrict access to
certain pages on my web using a password. Help! |

You have to publish your web first. Once it is published,
open it in IE and click File > Edit with Front Page. Once open in front page, click on Tools > Server > Permissions. You can then set permissions from there. Be aware that if you set permissions here it will set the for your entire site. If you only want a select few pages protected you must first put them in a 'subweb' and have that subweb be protected. hth, MSK >-----Original Message----- >I think I'm getting old too. I believe that it is the AD in W2K that authenticates each
user and yes, you would have to use a db for any other. You would set up a db that checkes to see if the username and password match and then would let the user in to the page. hth, msk >-----Original Message----- >I can't remember if I asked this in an earlier post or not, I didn't see it >any of my watched posts. That's what I thought. I have SQL, but I don't have a public license, and it
costs too much with 2 processors in the server. LOL Thanks, Jm "msk" <none@none.com> wrote in message news:04a501c34729$73038e70$a301280a@phx.gbl... > I believe that it is the AD in W2K that authenticates each > user and yes, you would have to use a db for any other. > You would set up a db that checkes to see if the username > and password match and then would let the user in to the > page. > > hth, > > msk > >-----Original Message----- > >I can't remember if I asked this in an earlier post or > not, I didn't see it > >any of my watched posts.
