Ok, I have recently intsalled the Asus A7N8X-X Rev 2.0 board with a AMD
Athlon 2400 cpu and 512 mb Corsair PC3200 ram.

The settings I currently have are:
CPU EXTERNAL FREQUENCY [MHZ] 133
CPU FREQUENCY MULTIPLIER SETTING [AUTO]
MULTIPLIER CPU FREQUENCY 7.0X/15.0X
SYSTEM PERFORMANCE [USER DEFINED]
CPU INTERFACE OPTIMAL
MEMORY FREQUENCY [100]
RESULTING FREQUENCY 133
MEMORY TIMINGS AGGRESSIVE

Are these settings ok for the ram etc and can I tweak any of them for any
better performance?

Thanks

I think you better leave everything on auto and choose aggressive.
then spend a month reading up on how to overclock.

The faster one's system, the less the returns from overclocking.

Have a pint of Tim Taylor's in the Junction Inn in Otley for me...it's
the best bitter you will ever taste.

Happy New Year.

Ok, thanks, but I don't really want to overclock, just make as fast as
possible without doing or changing anything drastically.
I only asked the question because I have seen a few different
reccomendations? in this group, and also, there are a few different
possibilities in the BIOS page settings.

Thanks anyway

An XP2400 has a clock speed of 2Ghz. If you can run at 200Mhz x 10, this
should give you the best performance. Otherwise the highest FSB with the
relevant multiplier to keep the overall clock speed at 2Ghz (or under) would
mean no overclocking. And/or experiment with the RAM timings. Nvidia have a
utility which allows you to adjust FSB and some RAM timings without
re-booting.

You might want to lock your AGP speed to 66Mhz.
