Is there actually any program to help in connecting VPN's?

Would be sweet to test it via LAN through a couple of router and switch.

Main problem being to see if the router is actually blocking or passing
through the connection and how best to check where the problem lies.

On many occassions I have simply tested via LAN first, then via RRAS, PAP,
PTPP.

It seems some routers are fine and others not. The 3rd Party companies are
not the most helpful or knowledgable either. Would be great to test it
myself.

Thanks in advance...

Actually, the problem is worse than that... Router functionality
varies greatly depending on what firmware release is installed....
