Windows XP, IE v.6. And in other apps., such as Outlook Express, etc.
When text is selected by dragging mouse to select, or using the <Edit - Find (on This Page...> function, etc., the text that is selected becomes un-selected when the Scroll Bar is used (clicked on). This is very annoying and it did not happen in Win95/98 (the last versions I used prior to WinXP)

Does anyone else see this behavior

yea i got it, but if i want to select some text or whatever and it goes beyond the bottom i just keep dragging and moving the mouse sideways (speeds it up a bit)

michael,
I think you would have to do that anyway when selecting beyond the bottom of the screen. What's annoying is when you use the "Find (on this page...)" function. When the word is found it is highlighted at the bottom (last line) of the page, if the word was not in the screen view. You are most likely going to want to scroll to read what is below the selected word. Since scrolling is messed up, i.e. clicking the bottom scroll button jumps 10-15 lines, instead of one line as it should, or jumps a couple of pages when you click in the scroll bar either above or below the slide button, instead of one page as it should, the word becomes un-selected and thus difficult to find.
