Test Page from locally attached printer required to print from Terminal Services

Here is an odd one.

With Windows 2003, using the Generic Text driver on an XP PC, and then
wanting to print through a Terminal Services connection to the Printer, it
is necessary to print a Test Page to the printer via the local PC after a
reboot of the PC.

Is this a problem with the Generic Text driver?
