We have a curious problem with a W2 SP4 server running SQL server
We recently had trouble gaining remote administration access to one of our
servers via terminal services. Our first thought was to stop and start the
service how ever noticing that the service was greyed out (we were not aware
at the time that that this was normal) we decide to remove and reinstall it.
It removed fine and rebooted ok but if we now reinstall it and reboot the
server the system hangs immediately after the login screen and a whole host
of services fail to start.
Our only recourse is to reboot in safe mode, remove the terminal services
service again and restart.
Has any one got any ideas as to what’s happened and how we can best resolve
the issue.
Regards
Ian
