I am trying to get some testing sorted as we require a
satellite emulator but that's being sorted. The link
speed is 384kb/s of which the classification at which we
run has been allocated 85%of that. Within our
classification, there are numerous systems also running
including some which are voice rather than data. The
nature of the project I'm on, doesn't allow the install of
extra software without going through an exhaustive
integration, test and release process so that'll take
quite a bit of time and money. Is there a way you can
increase the timeout threshold thus allowing RDP traffic?
I also noticed that if I try to ping one of our remote
servers using a load of 14000 bytes and a 4000ms timeout,
I get a one in 20 loss with a latenct of between 1100-
1300ms. I have presented these findng to the customer who
are not convinced that these finding prohibit the use of
terminal services to remotely manage the servers in
question.
Once I can get the emulator combined with a link on which
we can drop the speed to around 128kb/s I'll be able to
prove the problem (he said).
Any thoughts?
