Template doesn't effect text imported from Word outlines

Hi,
I have written a presentation in Words. outlined the text as needed when
planning to import the text into PP 2007.

When I then tryed to applied a human theme, found at Microsoft PP templates,
the background affects, but not the text colors.

Why?
