I would be grateful for any advice on this porblem. When I try to run Task
Manager it no longer works. However, if I run it from the Start>Run>taskmgr I
get an error message saying "another program is using this file". I have
started it in safe mode, run the Stinger software and cleaned up the system,
using Adaware and Spybot. I have check the reg key and this is the setting.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
"DisableTaskMgr"=dword:00000000

Could anyone tell me how to solve this problem, I have a lot of the problem
in the forum about this, but I am at a loss now.

If DisableTaskMgr is set to 1 you get this error message:

Task Manager has been disabled by your administrator

You probably still have some sort of malware.

UPDATE your antivirus software and run a full system scan.

UPDATE whatever anti-spyware applications that you have and run a full
system scan with each one.

You might want to start in Safe Mode to run your antivirus and anti-spyware
software.

Running a full system antivirus scan or anti-spyware scan in Safe Mode can
be a good idea. Some viruses and other malware like to conceal themselves
in areas Windows protects while using them. Safe mode will prevent those
applications access and therefore unprotect the viruses or other malware
allowing for easier removal.

You still have some kind of malware.

Get HijackThis, download, install, run it and save a log, then Register at
AUMHA FORUMS.

People frown on posting HijackThis logs here.

3) HijackThis
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

3a) HijackThis (direct download)
http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip

Once installed...
Start | Run | Type: hijack | Click OK |
Click on Scan, it will take a while to run.
When it's done running, a Save Log button will appear in the lower left.
Click on Save Log.
hijackthis.log will default to My Documents.
You can save hijackthis.log where ever you want.
