About:
SystemRescueCd is a Linux system available from a bootable CDROM that
provides an easy way to perform administrative tasks on your computer,
such as creating and editing the partitions of the hard disk or backing up
data. It contains a lot of system utilities (such as parted, partimage,
and fstools), and basic programs (such as editors, midnight commander, and
network tools). It also includes QtParted, a Partition Magic clone that
makes editing partitons easy with its Qt graphical user interface. This
CDROM aims to be very easy to use and accessible to everybody.

Changes:
Lftp, ChkRootKit, DiskArchiver, LDM-tools, and Clam-AntiVirus were added. A
personalization script was added that allows one to make one's own version
of this CDROM. QtParted and QtEmbedded were updated, and the Linux kernel
was upgraded to 2.4.22. An important bug that broke vim and fsck.reiser4
was fixed. The PDF manual was updated.

I followed a link on that page and found the author's home page
quite a bit more infomative ...

I downloaded the ISO image, used BurnAtOnce to write it to CD-R,
and after setting the BIOS boot sequence to look at the CD-ROM first,
the system booted right up with a version of a Linux Gentoo distribution ....

SystemRescueCD looks like it can be VERY handy,
especially if the partition tools, which are supposedly
a Partition Magic clone, and the ghosting tools work as advertised ....

Will have to do some more testing to find out ....
