I like Plun's idea of looking at the policy settings--that, or a custom
version of the browser distributed or modified with the IEAK are the ways I
could imagine creating this situation.
I don't think this effect relates to Microsoft Antispyware--at least, yours
is the first such post since the program released that I've read. Did you
do a scan and remove some things? Maybe there'd be a clue in the
cleaner.log file in the Microsoft Antispyware installation directory. That
should list each object removed.
If you go to start, run, type in "gpedit.msc" without the quotes and hit
enter.
Navigate to Administrative templates, windows components, Internet explorer,
Internet Control panel.
What settings do you see there?
