Using XP Home with SP2 installed

When I try to open 'system information' in 'Ststem Tools' I get the 'Help
and Support' information! When I try to open 'Help and Support' from the
'Start' button I get an error message Windows cannot find 'helpctr.exe'

I can find the 'helpctr.exe' but obviously in is in the wrong place for
Windows to action it

Are the .exe files in the wrong places and how to I get my 'System
Information' back?

Another problem I have (don't know if related) is that I have lost my video
capture facilty!

Thanks

Hmm has some-one else been at your computer palying with settings.

First try this...

type "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\MSInfo\msinfo32.exe"
into the run dialog box (Located on the start menu with the title RUN)

If msinfo comes up then it's still working - and you need to fix the
shortcut in Program/Accesories/SytemTools - System information by right
clicking, pressing proerties and putting "C:\Program Files\Common
Files\Microsoft Shared\MSInfo\msinfo32.exe" into the Target Text box.

If some-one , or a strange virus is playing games with your computer and has
moved helpctr then for knowledge sake helpctr is supposed to be located

in

C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386\helpctr.exe

Note that most teenagers stuffing around on the computer wouldn't have gone
into this folder - so I am presuming that there is a Piccadilly of a virus to
be dealt with.

NOTE : I am not affiliated with Microsoft, and this answer is to be taken
lightly.
