I have run sysprep multiple times on the same image and have never
noticed any ill effect. The first version of Sysprep to ship with
Windows 2000 would often fail to shut the computer down at all. It
would simply hang with a blank blue background. Even then, the
solution was to manually shut off the power and there was no ill effect
from it that I ever observed.
