This is what I am doing: I log as the local admin and create a new account
called testuser with admin rights, I reboot and log with the testuser
account, I make all the changes and shortcuts and logoff and log as the local
admin. I go to computer properties and advance go to profiles and copy
testuser to default users and select everyone then I delete the testuser
profile and I go to manage under my computer and remove the testuser account,
I execute sysprep with reseal and with mini and pnp and shutdown.
When I log in there is nothing there.

If I use Factory and Audit they are there. I don’t know if once I run
Factory and Audit if the PC is ready for end user?

I am doing something wrong?
Thank you

Hi!

Two things might help you..

First, you can delete all hidden system file named desktop.ini from the
default user folder...

Then if the only problem is desktop icons, why don't you put them in all
user desktop?

I hope this will help!

THe issues is that the admin profile gets copied over the default profile in
xp. there is a HOt fix on ms website.
search on KB 887816 on Ms web site and you can download the update.

also, ive had no luck with removing the "test user" profile once you
configure your test user and copy it over to the default profiles. Seems to
not work very well. Must keep some files it uses on the build of the new
profile when someone new logs in.
hope this helps.
