Microsoft does NOT manufacture audio adapters. It is most likely Realtek or
Sigma Tel.
In Device Manager you can use the drop down list on the Details tab of the
Properties page of your sound device to obtain the name of the Manufacturer.
If it is Realtek, go here to get the latest drivers (v. 1.67):

Make SURE it is Realtek first.
