First thing I would try is to dload the patch and SP4 to a
different PC where you can burn them to CD or put them on
a memory stick if you have one and run them from there.
You might also try and run the following commands from a
command prompt
NET STOP "NETWORK CONNECTIONS SHARING"
NET STOP "WINS CLIENT"
then go into the registry and delete the rpcpatch and
rpctftpd registry entries. Then go find the svchost.exe
and/or dllhost.exe files that are located in the
C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\WINS folder. This is where the variant
of the blaster worm that I had resided. If that doent
work perhaps someone else has other ideas, but my
suggestion at this point would be to reconfigure.
