svchost.exe error

      25th Aug 2003
Upon dial connection to internet, receive the following
msg, "SVCHOST.EXE has generated errors and will be closed
by Windows. You will need to restart program. An error log
is being created." Afterwards, the ability to interact
with internet and periphals hangs. I have installed SP4.

Solutions most favored...thank you.

Sounds to me like you have the blaster Virus! Run the
823890 patch to take care of the security issue
