Is their a way to create a Stub zone on a Windows 2000 server (SP4). It is a
domain controller. We have a sister company that we want to "point to", and
have lookups look to their DNS server.

Thanks in advance,
Jeff

Not with the Microsoft DNS Server, perhaps with a
third party DNS server.

Unless your sister company is very large just use a
secondary of their zone. (They will have to allow
the transfer though.)

What about having my DNS server on a Windows 2003 Server? Could I use a Stub
zone on it for this purpose?

Yes. Win2003 is the first (Microsoft) version to support STUB
zones.

Why do you wish to use a Stub zone?
(It's main purpose is when you have need for only a small
percentage of the records from another DNS server-zone
and for some reason cannot reach them through another method,
i.e., recursion, conditional forwarding.)

We need to be able to "read" our sister company's DNS information. Is their
another way to reach them using Win2000 DNS?
