I am having trouble with the extended
deskyop function on this video card which supports dual monitors. I see the
same image in both monitors. I would like to stretch the desktop over both
of the monitors. any help will be appreciated.

The "Extend Desktop" is needed to be supported by the video adapter AND
driver. If the adapter doesn't provide the hardware resources to
generate the additional area or the driver used does not make the
feature available it won't happen. So if the card is supposed to do it,
and you don't see "extend desktop" you need current drivers from the
card manufacturers web site.
