straightforward to change my DVD drive?

My compaq Presario Desktop has the (original) DVD drive installed. I wish to replace it with an internal DVD R/W drive, so I can record my mini-dv movies onto DVD.
Thought I would inquire here... but is it going to be an basic, easy swap "in & out"

Yes, it should be a simple operation. Just remove the old drive and put the
new drive in it's place. When you reboot, the drive should be recognized.
Most new drives come bundled with the software necessary to record with the
new drive.
