STOP 0x0000001E KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED in NTOSKRNL.EXE

Hi,
when I try to install Microsoft Messenger I get the
following error message:
"STOP 0x0000001E KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED in
NTOSKRNL.EXE"

What's the problem, what can I do to install msn?
