I stream my music on a site called stickam and other smaller sites. I set my
stereo mix level at 12, and if I close the sound dialog box, it hikes itself
back up to 100! The only way i can get it to stay at 12, is if i keep the
sound dialog box up, but it gets in the way some times. I also want to know
how to get the best audio out of it, but most of all, I'd like to get the
problem fixed. Am I doing something wrong? A setting not set right? Will it
be a fix in Vista sp1? I am running vista business, but also have this
problem in vista home premium.

Check the volume settings of all installed media players. It is not
inconceivable that there is an interaction with one whose volume is set
to maximum; I have witnessed same here.
