My computer won't start up right. As soon as you click on a user, it will get
the background, and an open my documents folder that I am using right now to
use any program. Thats all there is, there is no startup menu, or other
files, other than the one folder. it won't work in safe mode either. I tried
system restore and that didn't work, and now I'm out of I'm out of ideas. Can
someone please help?

We did that a week ago. The only changes to the machine since then is the
install of Visio and IrfanViewer. He has had a couple versions of IrfanViewer
installed for a couple years now with no problems.
Any other suggestions?

A couple solutions i've seen others reply with are .....

Press CTRL + ALT + DEL at the same time.
The Windows Task Manager should pop up.
Select "File" | "New Task (Run...)" > type in "explorer.exe" and hit enter.
Does that bring up your desktop?
If so then reboot immediately.
If not then see here:
Corrupted Profile: Windows XP :
http://kgiii.info/windows/XP/general...ptprofile.html

or

Goto http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
and scroll down to #195 in the right hand column.
Download the script file and run it while logged onto the errant account.
If it works apply it to any other accounts, while logged into them, that
have the same problem.
You'll probably have to reboot or re-logon to see if it works.

I thought thier had been a 3rd post suggesting a fix, but i dont see, so i'm
probably wrong.
