It sounds like both vendor device drivers are using or attempting to use the
same resource at the same time.
I'd recommend starting from the beginning again:
1. disconnect both printers form the computer
2. reboot your computer and make sure no printer programs are running when
you start-up (check Task Manager and close anything printer, Epson, or Xerox
related)
2. uninstall any software that applied to the Epson and Xerox printers
3. reboot
What I don't know is what your printers are (models names, connector type -
USB or parallel, etc.), what applications you were trying to print from,
what the repro steps are, and so on.
Just to get a printer functioning, install just one of the devices and see
if that will at least let you print.(If it doesn't - then when you
uninstalled both devices previously - one or both of them didn't really
uninstall - which, unfortunately, is common. From there you would have to
search your registry or hard drive for either Xerox or Epson files)
From here, you can try again to see if the problem was a glitch, or you can
install the Xerox first and then the Epson and see if that would make a
difference.
good luck!
