Hi there

The sound doesn't seem to be working on my PC any more, I used to be able to hear sound from my speaker and listen to music, now when I try and listen to music, I get the message: No audio Hardware is available or the Hardware is not responding, if i click on the information button it displays: No sound card.
I think the answer may be in Device manager, can anyone please advise?

Was there a point when it went from working to not working, what what happened in between?

If you go to device manager (right click on "my computer", properties, hardware, device manager), do you have anything listed under "sound, video and game controllers"?

There was a point where it stopped working but to be honest it was a while ago and because I had no need for the sound I managed without it!

There are several items listed under the sounds, video and games section, seven to be precise. If i right click andy of the and click on properties, the status is : device is working properly but the location on all of them is: Unknown. is this related to the problem?

Nope, that isn't a problem in itself (mine says that too).

Can you list which ones there are please? (do any have red crosses or yellow question marks?)

have u tried other speakers?

this can tell u if its the speakers or your soundcard drivers!
