I have the automatic update function set but SP2 does not
download. Do I have a problem or are Microsoft not
downloading the update at the moment?.

Regards,
Bernard Boakes.

Bernard;
Microsoft is downloading and you do not have a problem.
Microsoft is limiting the number of computers a day that get SP-2 from
Automatic Update.
You could get it now or in a few days.

I downloaded 266Mb of SP2 update from microsoft.com.
Seems to install correctly, but the re-start then hangs
with error mssge "Dr Watson postmortem debugger has a
problem and must close" It then shows the error signature.
The system then hangs. It appears to be compatability
problem but I cannot work out which prog is causing it!
System will restart (using CTL+Alt+Del) in safe mode OK.
I can then use Ctl Panel to remove SP2. All my software is
up to date, anyone any thoughts on how to find the problem
prog ??

>Hey Bernard,

Microsoft is already offering downloads so it appears that
the problem is on your end. I might try a generic
download from them (browser upgrade, language translater
for Word) to make sure that everything is working well
between your computer and them. If you still have
problems, wait for the CD and install from that. If you
have broadband, the update will take several hours, so it
is definately an overnight thing.

Good Luck,
Gerry
