After installing sp2, how is it possible to stop the
security center from launching after each user(s) initial
login. Also upon rebooting after sp2 install completes,
how do I stop the screen asking if you want to enable
auto-updates.

I am working in a school enviroment, and need to push
sp2 out to a large number of computers, I can't have
these screen appear after install completes.

Thanks..

Hi

This screen will not show up if you install SP2 in unattended mode
(using command line parameters) as GPO, SUS, or SMS does.

See "Deploying Windows XP Service Pack 2" here for
documentation on the command line parameters:

Unattended XP SP2
http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/sp2changes.htm

There is a MS White Paper that discusses the methods for deploying XPSP2.

Group Policy is the recommended and easiest method to deploy Windows Firewall settings for computers running Windows XP with SP2.

When Group Policy cannot be used or is not used, you have the following options to configure Windows Firewall settings for computers running Windows XP with SP2:

* Use the Unattend.txt file to configure Windows Firewall settings
* Use the Netfw.inf file to configure Windows Firewall settings
* Run a script file that contains Netsh commands to configure Windows Firewall settings

You will unfortunately have to read quite a lot of info.
