I really need help on this. I got a computer from a friend but have no sound on an onboard Realtek AC'97, I have bought a new Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit. Both cards give me a "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)". I have downloaded the new drivers at Creative for the Live! card. I have disabled the Realtek. I have fixed registry problems I had. My friend said the problem started when he lost his recovery disk for the computer and used a regular Windows XP SP2 which did not have all of the drivers he needed for many things that were onboard. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I might try to fix this problem. Thanks....
