a bit of graphics help needed please:

are palettes a certain file type? the instructions from this other
program i want to use read:

"You can import palettes from palettes produced by Paint Shop Pro or
Photoshop."

is there a program that can take an image and extract the palette from
it? i have irfanview but i don't know if it can do that.

weird, i tried out help in irfanview yesterday and nothing happened
when i hit contents. today i tried it and it worked...turns out it can
do palettes! thanks.
