i get's a server time out, i ran XP mediacenter before with oulook 2003with
that i got 20 mails from the server on max 30 sek, i have a 6/6 MB fiber

newest definition's. i have tryed to install both outlook 2003 and a demo
version off office 2007 it's the same can't get my Mail. Everything else runs

Do you have AVG set to scan the incoming e-mail? Turn it off.

You don't say how you connect or the connection speed so it's difficult to
determine the cause there.

Iv'e got a would i say i have a fast dsl it's a 6/6mb fiber connection, so it
should'nt be the speed that gives me trouble. And my AVG runs fine it's only
when it opdate's it's going down, i dont now wy it's downloading the opdates
so slow that just 400 kb takes about 15 min. and i must restart the download
after server time out 2-3 times. But my mail runs now, it was my web promiter
that haves a problem when i made a GMAIL acount and resent all to there it
functions fine.

Something I just did to a computer today with problems getting some sites
and not others.

They were using DHCP to get the IP address for the computer. I assigned a
static IP and all went well from there.

You'll have to set the default gateway and DNS address but once I set it, it
started working.
