Slow profile

Hi,
I have a Windows 2000 pro station that is giving me some trouble. I have
defragged the drive and turned off services that aren't needed, checked the
machine for spyware and viruses to no avail the problem persists.

When the user is opening an Office file(word or excel), the file name is
slow to come up in the file name field. I tried doing the same thing under
my profile, and I do not have this issue- there is no delay whatsoever.

I am inclined to say the issue is with the user profile- or could it be
something else?

Please advise.
